2024 Possession Splits

Possession Splits detail game results, possession by possession, including how each possession began (Poss), the starting (Start) and ending (End) field position of offensive drives measured by yards to the end zone, the number of offensive plays run (Plays) and drive yards gained (Yards), the result of the possession (Result), and the game score at the end of the possession (Score). Possession value gained or lost on non-garbage possessions is credited to the unit responsible for producing it: offensive drive value (OD), offensive value generated by a stop and possession change event (OX), opponent offensive drive value (DD), defensive value generated by a stop and possession change event (DX), special teams value generated on team and opponent field goal attempts (FG), on punts and punt returns (P), on kickoffs and kickoff returns (K), and on point-after-touchdown attempts (XP). The sum of these unit values plus the baseline expected value (EV) of the possession is equal to the change in scoring margin in the game.
